Following the success of RDG's two productions at Woking Festival earlier this month, there were further successes at Spelthorne & Runnymede Drama Festival last week.

The autumn one-act drama festival season drew to a close yesterday (24th October). RDG's two productions of Joe Orton's Funeral Games, directed by Judy Dolley and Michael Scanlan's play Loose Connections directed by Nancy Lund were given favourable adjudications by GoDA member Paul Fowler.

At the awards ceremony at the end of the evening Troy Chessman was awarded the Best Supporting Player for his performance at Caulfield in Funeral Games. Loose Connections won two trophies - Best Youth Play (16-21 years) for the second year running and the Technical Merit award.

There was also a clutch of nominations for awards for both productions - Loose Connections : Best Director (Nancy Lund), Stage Presentation and Best Supporting Player for both Thomas Jacobs and Maisy Jacobs. Nominations for Funeral Games : Best Actress (Linda Russell), Best Actor (Marc Anderson), Best Director (Judy Dolley), Stage Presentation Award, Technical Merit Award and the Award for Comedy.

Congratulations to everyone involved in both plays.
