After appearing in several Sundowners productions Amy (nee Hewson) joined the group in 2012 when she was a member of the Show Choir followed by an appearance in Cold Comfort Farm. The following year she was one of the Follies Girls in Crazy For You. In 2014 she was part of our newly formed Youth Group where she appeared in The Spasm which won four trophies at the Spelthorne Drama Festival - including Best Youth production. She ended that busy year with her affecting performance as Duckling in Our Country's Good. The following year she appeared in the musical 9 TO 5: The Musical. In 2016 she made a strong impression as young Primrose in our multi-award-winning production of Primrose Way ~ a performance given a 'special mention' by the adjudicator at the award ceremony at Leatherhead Festival. She ended a successful year by appearing as one the 'women of the town' in The Beggar's Opera. In Nell Gwynn Amy gave an engaging performance as Rose Gwynn, another 'lady of the town'! In contrast she created a very different character as Androgymo in our classic Volpone in 2019 just a week before her wedding to Daniel Horn! Later in the year she was back on stage as the youngest nun in our lively production of Sister Act. In 2021 Amy was a key member of the cast in our physical theatre presentation of 100 which won awards at the Woking Drama Festival.The following year she part of the impressive cast of the musical Chess. Two years later she gave a delightful true performance as a carer in our powerful presentation of The Father while in contrast she followed this with a highly engaging Cecily in our stylish presentation of Oscar Wilde's The of Being Earnest.
