Paul Surrey

21 appearances in RDG productions

Paul joined the group in 1990 and was immediately cast in The Admirable Crichton followed by our epic production of Cavalcade. He has a particular gift for comedy which has been used to hilarious effect in such productions as Noises Off and Neville's Island (where he played Neville).
But Paul has made a strong impression in serious plays too: he made a gritty Bowers in Terra Nova and an explosive Burgomaster in The Visit.

But it was for playing comedy that he won the Best Actor Award at the 1996 Woking Festival for the central role in The Actor's Nightmare.

Paul was most recently in The Memory of Water, Privates on Parade and Arcadia - again playing comedy.

It is with sadness we record Paul's death in August 2007.
