Tony joined the group in 1977 first appearing in the festival play Interview. In the following 16 years he took part in 25 RDG productions, the last being in Oliver! (2) where he played Mr Brownlow. In 1980 he won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his appearance in Was He Anyone?? Tony was the group's President for many years.
