Another Fine Mess
by Gillian Plowman
Another Fine Mess had 1 performance over 31 years ago (on the 2nd of October 1993)
This breathtakingly switchback script allies the theme of AIDS with a struggling cabaret act as two enterprising actors impersonate Laurel and Hardy. Because of copyright difficulties over the joyous L & H songs the script has never been published and RDG is one of the few companies to present the play.
At Woking - the one festival where we performed the play in 1992 - it was placed third, won the Technical Excellence Award and for Philip Audaur and Keith Bollands, the Adjudicators Award for their emotional, heartbreaking, heart-warming portrayal of those giants of the early cinema. Their Recall Night performance was simply electrifying..
