Our multi-award winning production of the absurdist comedy by James Saunders was selected to compete in the annual All-Winners Festival run by the National Drama Festivals Association

We are delighted that, once again, a play by Runnymede Drama Group which has won a One Act Drama Festival in the previous year, was selected to compete in the prestigious All-Winners Festival.

This year, the festival was in the Thameside Theatre in Grays, Essex.

Who Was Hilary Maconochie?? won six awards at the Woking and Spelthorne & Runnymede Drama Festivals in October 2009. As winner of the Spelthorne Festival, the play was eligible for selection for the All-Winners and the NDFA committee chose our production - one of only nine plays to be chosen from all the winning productions at each festival throughout the year.

The play was re-rehearsed and performed at the Thameside Theatre on Monday, 26th July.

The adjudicator, Paul Fowler was effusive in his praise of every aspect of the production but the standard of the festival was exceptionally high and the production received no awards. However, nominations for The Amateur Theatre Trophy, the Adjudicator's discretionary award, were given for the excellent set and to Nicola Cutcliffe for her performance as the 'delicious' Hilda.
