Dancing at Lughnasa
by Brian Friel
Dancing at Lughnasa had 4 performances almost 29 years ago (between the 22nd of November 1995 and the 25th of November 1995)
This beautiful, lyrical, nostalgic play is set in remote Donegal where five unmarried sisters are trapped in the explosive tension of their frustration, fired by the conflicting impulse of religious morality and pagan revelry. It proved to be Brian Freil's most successful play winning all the 1990 Best New Play Awards on both sides of the Atlantic.
