Although Bill joined the group at the beginning of 2002, he has a wide experience of both acting and directing plays. He was immediately cast as one of the extraordinary characters in Bed which won the Elmbridge Festival in March 2002 and then went on to win the English Final at Cannock.

Bill's directorial debut for RDG was Losers, which won a total of five awards at the 2003 Woking and Spelthorne Drama Festivals. In 2005 he directed Happy Birthday Mr President or Who Killed Norma Jeane for two local festivals. He directed the comedy Last of the Red Hot Lovers and appeared onstage in Pinter's Party Time. He directed the comedy Obituaries which was placed third at the prestigious 2008 Leatherhead Drama Festival while the following year he played the Salem judge in The Crucible. His production of Teeth won the three awards at the 2010 Elmbridge Drama Festival. Sadly Bill's health declined and he passed away in 2019
